Breakfast waffles

Ingredients 

for 4 waffles

  • 120 gr unsalted butter
  • 300 gr self-rising flour
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 4  eggs
  • 180 gr whole yogurt
  • 300 ml whole milk
  • some butter for greasing

Toppings: 

  • maple syrup and butter
  • fresh fruits
  • whipping cream
  • chocolate sauce

Instructions 

  • Melt the butter. 
  • In a bowl, whisk together the self-rising flour, sugar, and salt.
  • In another bowl, beat the eggs with a whisk. Stir in the yogurt, milk, and melted butter
  • Pour the yogurt and milk mixture into the dry ingredients while stirring. Mix well with the whisk until just combined; a few lumps are okay.
  • Preheat the waffle iron. Lightly grease the iron with some butter, both top and bottom. 
  • Fill the iron with ¼ of the batter. 
  • Close the waffle iron and bake the waffle for about 8 minutes until lightly browned and cooked through. 
  • Repeat with the remaining butter and  batter. 
  • Enjoy with some butter and maple syrup or other toppings
