Chocolate cookies are a popular treat all around the world. The rich chocolate flavor pairs perfectly with a crispy texture, making them irresistible. Whether you enjoy them as a snack with a cup of tea or coffee, or as a dessert after a meal, chocolate cookies never disappoint. There are endless variations of chocolate cookies, from chewy to crunchy, and with added ingredients such as nuts or candy pieces. No matter how you prefer your chocolate cookies, indulging in a batch is always worth it.

Ingredients

  • 115 gr unsalted butter
  • 100 gr caster sugar
  • 100 gr dark brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 125 gr flour
  • 80 gr cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • pinch of salt
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 170 gr chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Combine both types of sugar and the butter in a bowl, and mix until a creamy texture is achieved. Next, add the egg and vanilla extract to the mixture, and continue to mix until fully incorporated.
  • Combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl. Gradually add this mixture to the creamed mixture until fully incorporated.
  • Add the milk to the batter and mix well.
  • Finally, gently fold the chocolate chips into the batter, ensuring they are evenly distributed.
  • Since the dough can be quite sticky, it's best to let it rest in the refrigerator for at least an hour. This will make it easier to handle. Then, shape the dough into 20 evenly sized balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Gently press down on each ball to slightly flatten them.
  • Bake the cookies for 12-14 minutes in a preheated oven (180°C, 356°F ). Allow them to cool on the baking sheet for a while, as they will still be soft, before transferring them to a cooling rack.
