- 250 gr self-raising flour
- 2 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 sachet of vanilla sugar
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 50 gr butter
- 1 egg
- 75 ml milk

With this recipe, you can make 8 to 10 scones.
- Preheat your oven to 225 degrees Celsius (437 F) and generously grease a muffin tray with butter.
- In a mixing bowl, sift the self-raising flour, baking powder and salt. Next, add the vanillasugar and sugar to the mixture. Use two knives to cut the butter into the dry ingredients.
- In another bowl, mix together the egg and milk. Reserve 1 tablespoon of this mixture and add the rest to the bowl of dry ingredients. Knead the mixture until it is smooth and forms a cohesive dough.
- Create 8-10 evenly sized balls of dough and place them into the prepared muffin tray. Brush the tops lightly with the remaining egg-milk mixture.
- Bake the scones in the center of the oven for approximately 10 minutes, until they are lightly browned and cooked through.
- Allow the scones to cool and serve with raspberry jam and clotted cream.
