Vanilla Cake

Ingredients

  • 200 gr unsalted butter at room temperature
  • 200 gr sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 4 eggs
  • 200 gr self-raising flour
  • Pinch of salt


Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 160°C (320°F).
  • Make sure your butter is very soft; otherwise, it may curdle.
  • Put the softened butter and sugar in a bowl and mix until light and fluffy. Add the vanilla and mix well.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  • Finally, add the self-raising flour and salt, and beat until you have a light batter.
  • Grease a cake tin with butter and then dust it with a thin layer of flour.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared cake tin.
  • Bake the cake in the preheated oven for about 1 hour, or until a wooden skewer comes out clean.
